To give you an idea of how we can help make your next event super special, we’ve put together a few standards and features you can expect from us.

Stunning location

They say that first impressions are everything. So, if you’re welcoming esteemed guests or business prospects, you must start on the right note.

The White Hart Hotel is not only centrally located, but it’s situated between the gorgeous medieval splendour of Lincoln Cathedral and the historic Castle walls.

Dating back to 1387, our venue is steeped in history and captures the breathtaking workmanship of this period.

And if that wasn’t enough, we also offer access to the rooftop (on request), where guests can take in the gorgeous city backdrop while sipping on their favourite tipple.

White Hart Hotel Exterior

A variety of function rooms

Whether you’re planning a small party or a grander event, we have various function rooms that can hold up to 140 guests.

The Tank Room is the ideal way to impress a handful of business associates, with traditional décor and a theme celebrating the history of military tanks – which were first designed and built in Lincoln. Similarly, The Wellington is built to welcome up to 10-12 people like The Tank Room. However, this function room adopts a more contemporary style and is made for private dining.

If you’re looking for a bit more space, The Eastgate can hold up to 70 guests for a private ceremony or 50 guests for a dinner. The King Richard and The Eastgate combined can hold up to 150 guests for a dinner. Whereas, The Bailgate Suite is perfect for hosting intimate wedding receptions and parties of 40 to 50 guests.

You also have the choice of booking our largest function space, the King Richard Suite. Accommodating dinners for up to 100 or ‘theatre style’ conferences for up to 140, this grand offering is designed to cater for large groups.

A handy guide on the best things to do in Lincoln during the warmer months

Looking to pencil in a fun activity into your diary this summer?

Come rain or shine, there are some incredible things to do in Lincoln over the next couple of months.

From historical sightseeing to live music festivals, the fun never stops in the beating heart of Lincolnshire. To help give you a little taste of what’s to come, we’ve put together a comprehensive guide on the best activities and events taking place this summer in Lincoln.

A bit of retail therapy

If you fancy popping a few tags and buying something nice, Steep Hill is home to a variety of quaint boutique shops.

Forget common high-street retailers, you’ll be surrounded by vintage clothing, antiques and unique pieces of art.

If that’s right up your street, then you should head to the Makers’ Market, which takes place on selected days throughout the summer in Lincoln. Or to stock up on the freshest local produce, take a trip to the Gainsborough Farmers’ & Craft Market on 10th August between 9am and 3pm.

steep hill

Lincoln Cathedral tour

If you’re looking for things to do in Lincoln that involve soaking up its rich history, then embark on a tour around Lincoln Cathedral.

Take in the breathtaking architecture, Magna Carta facsimile, the Blessed Virgin Mary and Fossils in the Nave floor. No trip to Lincoln is complete without visiting this landmark.

Lincoln 1940s Weekend

Engulf yourself in the spirit of wartime Britain with two-days of period and vintage activities and displays. From live 1940s music and dance to Battle of Britain Memorial Flight flypasts and living history displays, it’s set to be a remarkable couple of days in Lincoln this summer.

The Lincoln 1940s Weekend takes place between 10th and 11th August, so be sure to make a note in your diary and cancel any other plans.

Choose a kindred spirit and share impossible stories with them this summer in Lincoln.

As far as festivals go, nothing quite compares to Lost Village. Taking place in an abandoned woodland village in Lincolnshire, you’ll enter into a surreal world that’s been misplaced in the sands of time. For one day only (22nd August), you can experience live music and exceptional food surrounded by relics of the past and deep woodland.

Alternatively, the Lincoln Morris Festival on 7th September is an equally as joyous occasion, with groups from around the county filling the streets wearing colourful clothes and dancing the day away.

A round of golf

Nothing quite gets you into the swing of summer like playing a round of golf. The Lincoln Golf Club has garnered the reputation as having some of the finest putting surfaces in the East Midlands and training facilities.

It even hosted the Gents and Ladies County Championships in 2017. Prices are affordable and the staff are always ready to welcome new members.

Grand Medieval Joust

If you want something unusual to do in Lincoln this summer, trot down to the Grand Medieval Joust on 3rd and 4th August between 10am and 5.30pm at Lincoln Castle.

This two-day medieval tournament showcases the Sport of Kings in all its glory. Only one brave knight will be crowned the winner!

Join us for afternoon tea

Talking of famous tea parties, you can always have a spot of your own at our award-winning hotel.

During the course of afternoon tea, our team will serve up a delectable selection of cakes, fancies, sandwiches and teas. You can even save some of them for later or to give to someone else as a gift.

It’s a beautiful way of catching up with friends while tasting the finer things in life.

Summer has finally arrived at the White Hart Hotel

Experience the freshest new summer menu in Lincoln

The time has come to dust off your favourite sunglasses and bask in the glorious British sunshine. (Or at least we hope!)

Either way, the White Hart Hotel has you covered come rain or shine, thanks to our new summer menu.

Using the finest ingredients and the innovative imagination of our head chef, Myles Mumby, we have a scintillating selection of dishes which celebrate the joyous tastes of summer cooking.

Pair our new menu with a glass of prosecco, a sweet cocktail, pint of lager or another refreshing tipple, and you have all the ingredients you need for a truly unforgettable experience in the heart of historic Lincoln.

Pan Fried Seabass 2

Summer food at its finest

The new summer menu is all about combining local produce and elevating them to create beautiful dishes which encapsulate the true British summertime.

In comparison to the hearty feel of our winter menu, these new starters, mains and desserts are lighter and packed with even more flavours.

For starters, you can choose from a number of feel-good classics like our English pea soup with Red Hill Farm ham hock bonbons, goats cheese cheesecake and the Prawn & Alfred Enderby smoked salmon mousse.

If the sun is shining, we highly recommend the pan-fried seabass served with potato noisette, samphire, garlic and parsley hollandaise or mouth-watering asparagus tart with sunset blue cheese, red onion marmalade, candied beetroot and carrot top vierge.

When it’s a miserable rainy day, the rolled chicken breast with red pepper sauce, Mediterranean vegetables, grilled chorizo and baby courgettes is the ideal way to transport yourself to a quiet coastal town in sunny Spain.

Or for an authentic dose of summer, we have some of Lincolnshire’s finest cuts of meat waiting to be grilled, including ribeye and sirloin steaks, Bluefin tuna steak, Tomahawk steak (ideal for sharing!) and the Red Hill Farm pork cutlet. All of these are served with your choice of two sides.

And if you can squeeze one more course in, we have some scrumptious desserts on our summer menu to help finish your meal on the sweetest of notes. From a refreshing selection of ice creams and strawberry soup to our rich olive oil and pistachio sponge and chocolate praline truffle dishes, there’s something to please all tastes.

Hungry yet?

Locally sourced produce

Here at the White Hart Hotel, we pride ourselves on delivering quality food. However, the only way to achieve this is by using the freshest ingredients.

As a “true yellowbelly”, head chef Myles Mumby has used his wealth of experience and connections with the local community to source the very best local produce available.

This includes seafood suppliers from the world-renowned seaport in Grimsby and Red Hill Farm’s lovely free-range meats.

We also use some of the county’s top local farmers to provide us with the juiciest organic vegetables and freshest dairy products to help ensure our summer food is bursting with flavour.

Go the extra mile

Our award-winning restaurant and hotel are conveniently located next to some of the best attractions in the city centre, such as Lincoln Cathedral and Lincoln Castle.

So, why not make a weekend of it?

Not only do we serve the most delicious local summer food, but we have various luxury rooms and executive suites for you to retreat in as well.

We can even take care of the little (but very wonderful) things like having a bottle of champagne on ice or a bouquet of flowers waiting upon arrival.

If you’re on the hunt to do something different this Easter holiday, you could always tie your stay in with our devilishly delightful Easter Sunday chocolate afternoon tea. For only £14.95 per person, you’ll be treated to a selection of sandwiches, chocolate cakes, scones, teas and coffees.

To check availability or to make a booking to taste our new summer menu, simply call +44 (0) 1522 526 222 or email info@whitehart-lincoln.co.uk.

Lincoln In May

Now that we’re in the full throws of Spring, it’s time to take a look at a few of the fantastic things you can get up to when visiting Lincoln at this fabulous time of year.

There’s no better time to enjoy Lincolnshire’s idyllic countryside than during Spring and our chalk streams are sure to leave a lasting impact on any visitor. The chalk streams are a characteristic and truly picturesque part of our beautiful county and have helped shape the Lincolnshire Wolds for more the 10,000 years.

Much of the rolling hills and of the Lincolnshire Wolds have underlaying chalk and it’s no wonder they have been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Now’s the time to visit, as the streams begin bursting with life once more.

Once you’ve enjoyed the surrounding countryside, it’s time to head back into central Lincoln. On the White Hart Hotel’s doorsteps are some of the city’s most famous attractions, including the magnificent Cathedral, of which you’ll get no better views than from our very own balcony.
